What is it: Systematic Sampling is the random sampling with a system structure. From the sampling frame, a starting point is chosen at random, and thereafter at regular intervals. It is a sample where every k(th) member of the population is chosen for the sample, with value of k being approximately N/n, where N equals the size of the population and n equals the size of the sample.
Why use it: Systematic Sampling spreads the sample more evenly over the population and is easier to carry out than a random sample.
