What is it: A Standardized Work Sheet (SWS) Instruction is a standardized visual template which depicts the correct procedure to carry out a task. A SWS is used to monitor tasks and times for a particular operation which works hand in hand with lean manufacturing improvement techniques and methodologies. SWS is great for analyzing a process to identify and eliminate waste.

The "current best ways" is an important concept as one of the basic tenants of Standardized Work is that you are always looking for better ways to do work.
