What is it: Exponential Distribution is a class of continuous probability distributions. They describe the times between events in a process in which events occur continuously and independently at a constant average rate. Unlike the normal distribution, the slope of the exponential distribution is highly skewed and there is a much greater area below the mean than above it.
Why use it: Exponential Distribution is very useful in analyzing reliability.
