What is it: Dimensional Test Results, is used to document the key dimensional characteristics of a production part at a normal production run of rate.
Why use it: Once a production line has been established or new changes have been made to the line it is often necessary to measure all critical dimensions on a production part to make sure that the part being produced is within dimensional specifications. Where to use it: The measurement of the critical dimensions is usually completed at the end of the machining / assembly process. When to use it: For introduction of new parts, changes in the production line, improvements or tool changes. How to use it: Complete measurements off critical dimensions per the engineering drawings and production control plan and note on a dimensional results template.
